Agriculture Workshop |
|
Two State-level workshops would be
held each year, to discuss the
outcome of demonstrations and
training programmes implemented
under the project. Cost provisions
include payment of travel,
accommodation and living expenses
for participants. Provision is also
made to cover the costs of resource
persons undertaking training
courses. Similarly provision for
District Level and Cluster Level
Workshops is made under the
component. The implementing agencies
would facilitate and provide an
opportunity/forum for farmers to
share their experiences and lessons
learnt from demonstrations.

Involvement of Line Departments |
In tank command area, wherever
possible, line departments like
Agriculture, Horticulture and
Marketing would be involved.
Financial provisions in respective
departments will be linked to TUG
programmes.

Innovation Fund for Tank Users Groups |
|
The fund provision is made for TUGs as
Innovation Fund to publicise and to
increase adoptability/replication of
the technologies innovated by the
farmers in agriculture and
horticulture development. The
innovation could be related to (i)
Efficient irrigation methods; (ii)
Conjunctive use of surface and
ground water in tank command areas;
(iii) Innovative equipment for
agriculture practices; (iv) Other
equipments for water control,
monitoring and management; and (v)
Promotion of bio pesticides
production and use; (vi) Creation of
opportunity for innovative farmer to
share his experience through media
such as radio, TV; (vii) Institution
of awards for encouraging farmers to
spread the innovative technologies.
The fund allocation to the
individual /group of farmers would
depend on the experience of the
ongoing project and would be need
based. |
