Strategy to ensure women's participation  

• One women from each household will become the member of TUG.

• Ensuring 1/3 women representation in TUC.

• Ensuring at least one women become the principal office bearer.

• Identifying women who are proactive for the TUC and WIG.

• Representation for SC/ST and Vulnerable groups.

Formation of Women’s Interest Group (WIG) with TUC regarding women who have land in the command or catchments area, to be included in all training programmes, field visits/study tour, demonstrations related to agriculture. Landless women need to be included in tank related activities like nursery development (like horticulture, floriculture), fisheries, animal husbandry, fodder/ cultivation.

WIG with help of CFT-Agriculture Specialist and UAS-Agriculture Specialist need to work out the plan.

Fishery Activity

Wherever the tanks are feasible for fishing activity, equal number of men & women will be trained in fishery activity which includes fish rearing, fish harvesting and fish marketing. After the training, beneficiaries will be give fish seed (fingerlings-1000 fish seed per ha water spread area) boat/coracle fish nets etc .
